The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort, located on the eastern end of Kiawah Island, hosted the 2012 PGA Championships. It has been deemed as a 5 star course and rated at number 4 on the top 100 courses you can play list. 18 holes offer panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean where wind becomes a major factor in selecting the right club. Golfers have faced up to an 8 club difference depending on the wind factor.
Osprey Point, which is now a part of Kiawah Island Golf Resort, was originally designed to be a private course. This 18 hole course is set upon several natural lakes and offers a variety of beautiful challenges for even experienced golfers. Every hole will be memorable and offer a unique experience based on the tee level you choose.
Turtle Point at Kiawah Island Golf Resort is a Jack Nicklaus course designed for a golfer to use brains rather than brawn. This course is smartly designed to make a golfer think through every shot. Most of the fairways are narrow with smaller greens at the end where accuracy and strategy are a necessity. Although trees protect many areas of the course from the wind, it blows in different directions throughout the day and can be a make-or-break factor.
Cougar Point at Kiawah Island Golf Resort has won countless awards including “Golf Course of the year” by the South Carolina Golf course owners association. This course offers scenic views along the Kiawah River and provides high risk with great reward par 4′s and 5′s. A power golfer can make the best of wide landing areas to hit birdies and the occasional eagle. Strategy also comes into play with many holes to avoid having to hit over and around the tree lines.
Oak Point at Kiawah Island Golf Resort is the 5th installment of championship courses at Kiawah Island Resort. The resort purchased Oak Point in the late 90′s and made renovations to the course in 2004. The rolling landscape surrounded by maritime forest make this a first class course that scores near perfect when reviewed by professionals. Strategy and ball placement become the biggest factor to being successful at Oak Point.
